Our museum has four main rooms and each have displays emphasising different aspects of Oxford’s past.

Ray mehrtens room

This  room has a large collection of early forestry equipment and farm machinery from the early settlers through to more recent days, many collected and restored by Ray himself. 
Also here is a working model electric railway layout showing how Oxford township looked in the days before the rails and stations were removed.

Englebrecht room

.This room is laid out in the style of a small homestead in the 1800’s, compromising a kitchen/dining room, living room and bedroom including a child’s crib. It also shows some of the styles of clothes that would have been worn at that time.

You can also see a small collection of children’s toys, various clocks and ornaments

Meyer room

In this room we have two old projectors from the Oxford Town Hall Cinema and a variety of old film posters and memorabilia.  Also displayed is a collection of antique phonographs on loan from the  Vintage Phonograph Society of NZ and a vintage  Rover motorcycle.

ward room

This room has a collection from the early Oxford phone exchange, printing and military equipment and cabinets of domestic necessities.
